The MCA640 maximum throughput of 3.1MB/sec is the highest in its class. This exceptional rate is reached through an rotational speed of 3,600 RPM and an industry leading average seek time of 30ms.

Functional Design
The MCA640 offers ideal functionality in a compact design. Its 3.5" disks are small enough to fit in your shirt pocket. Features include a front-panel power switch, dual SCSI connectors, a media storage slot, and concealed switch setting panel.

Parallel Convenience
The convenience of parallet port connectivity is available for the MCA640 via an optional adapter. By simply snapping the parallet port adapter on the rear of the drive, the MCA640 can be connected to any PC's parallel port. Also, with the 640 Adapter Modul, you can add other SCSI peripherals without a SCSI card.

Ultimate Date Security
The MCA230LC uses unique thermomagnetics of magneto-optical recording to ensure the integrity of your valuable data far into the future. Unlike magnetic media like floppy disks, tape, ZIP and SyQuest; information cannot be accidentally corrupted or erased by magnetic fields. It offers the most rugged format for storing data.

Direct Overwrite
Besides standard MO media, the MCA640 also supports direct overwrite media which allows higher writing speed by eliminating the need for erasing before writing. Information is porcessed at near hard drive speeds of a maximum throughput of over 4MB per second.

Backward Compatible
The drive supports existing 3.5" magneto-optical media capacites 640, 540, 230, and 128 MB as well as direct overite media - for maximum flexibility.
